The more I practice, the luckier I get

‘The more I practice, the luckier I get’ is a truism that I find I agree with more and more as I get older, and perhaps wiser

Whether it is a sport you play, a business you start, an elevator-pitch you deliver or a resume you send out, the more you practice or execute it, whatever it is, the better you will do it and the more successful the outcome will be! Whether it is scoring a goal, making a sale, impressing an interviewer or getting noticed by a potential employer, practice makes perfect.

Try working for a period of each day or week outside of your comfort zone. Take a risk with a sales call. Spend time speaking to a colleague or customer you don’t get along with. Call a difficult customer. Go back to a client or employer you were less than successful with in the past. Apply for a job that you might have to up your game for. Believe in yourself. Challenge yourself.

Start today by making sure your name and resume are out there, to be found, to be noticed. Review your CV and send it to 6 local companies with a concise cover note. Promote yourself today. Today could be your lucky day, not because you are fortunate, but because you tried harder.
